Hello * Mabuika * Haku

I'm Raquel, founder of Obsidian & Bloom, and I'm so grateful you are considering to spend this day with us.

For years, I've been creating experiences that bring people together, but over time I realized what so many of us are truly longing for isn't another event—it's a moment to breathe and connect with one another. A place where we can put down our phones, quiet the noise, reconnect with ourselves, and remember what it feels like to simply be present.

Obsidian & Bloom was born from that intention. It is a space where curiosity is welcomed, every path is respected, and every person is invited to arrive exactly as they are. Whether you're here to rest, reflect, heal, reconnect, or simply take a break from the pace of everyday life, I hope you leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and a little more connected to yourself than when you arrived.

Thank you for trusting me to hold this space for you. I can't wait to share this beautiful day with you.

My Story

I was raised between the stories, landscapes, and traditions of Puerto Rico, Hawaiʻi, and California. As a woman with Taíno and Chumash roots, I've always felt a deep connection to the natural world and to the idea that healing begins when we slow down long enough to truly listen—to ourselves, to one another, and to the world around us.

For more than two decades, my career has centered on creating meaningful experiences for others. From producing large-scale events to designing intimate gatherings, I've witnessed the incredible power of bringing people together with intention. Over time, I realized that what I wanted to create most wasn't another event—it was a sanctuary.

Obsidian & Bloom was born from the belief that we all deserve moments to step away from the constant demands of modern life and reconnect with what grounds us. My approach blends mindfulness, creativity, ritual, nourishment, and genuine human connection in a way that welcomes everyone, regardless of where they come from or what they believe.

You don't need to be experienced in meditation, yoga, or spiritual practices to join us. You don't need to identify with any particular faith or philosophy. All that is asked is that you arrive with an open heart, a curious spirit, and a willingness to be present.

My hope is that every gathering feels less like attending an event and more like coming home—to yourself, to community, and to the quiet wisdom that has been there all along.

I'm honored to share this space with you, and I look forward to welcoming you into the Obsidian & Bloom community.
